New Beginnings

The Connection Homeless Shelter is celebrating a significant milestone, breaking ground on new land that will soon be home to a series of transitional apartments, known as Thriving Connection Apartments.

These new apartments are designed to provide a vital next step for individuals who have successfully progressed through the shelter’s programs and are ready to move towards independent living.

“Our goal is to provide a stable and safe transitional housing option for residents who have achieved stability after addressing the circumstances that led to their homelessness,” said Judy Pederson, Vice President of the Connection Homeless Shelter Board of Directors. “This ensures a smooth transition into secure housing as they move towards independent living.”

Both Pederson and North Platte City Council President Jim Nisley stress that the work to aid the less fortunate is not done with the construction of Thriving Connection Apartments.
